Our Aims
As an initiative, WeCANLab seeks to achieve four aims on the long-run as follows:
To become a leading decentralized knowledge production hub for scholars concerned with the study of collective action from different, yet, interlinked, fields across the world.
To synthesize results and findings within each field in social sciences towards developing middle-range theories on collective action.
To ensure the reproducibility and replicability of research on collective action.
To play an active role in cultivating a collective action culture among citizens.
To bridge the gap between academics and non-academics on issues that are related to the study of collective action.
Our Objectives (2022-2023)
To refine the structure of WeCANLab as an initiative
To design and test a new index on collective action (CAN Index)
To collaborate on research projects on collective action and raise funds for their execution.
To carry out public lectures on collective action and how it can be contribute to solving problems.
To network with various stakeholders, e.g. NGOs, companies and public sector, on solving local challenges through collective action.
